The CalOptima Board approved an interim Medi-Cal budget for the period of July – December 2011 last week, putting the Board on record to not implement provider cuts until January 2012. The hospital impact of proposed cuts, not to occur until January, would apply to outpatient services and the imposition of co-pays for emergency room and inpatient services. However, outpatient cuts are expected to be negated by the passage of the hospital fee bill, SB 335.

Hospital executive members in the HASC region are invited to attend a President’s Club reception hosted by California Hospital Association Political Action Committee and HASC on Tuesday, Sept. 27, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. The event will be held at Napa Rose Restaurant located in Disney’s Grand California Hotel at 1600 Disneyland Drive in Anaheim, and is complimentary for all individual and corporate CHPAC President’s Club members.
