Advanced LEAD Academy graduated its first cohort. Fall 2016 dates for Advanced LEAD Academy will be coming soon. Also in this week’s news: Register by June 15 to save on the California Physician Leadership Program, taking place Sept. 2015 – April 2016. HASC Business Partner Atlas Lift Tech provides information and training on safe patient handling.

Save on Physician Leadership Program—Register by June 15

The California Physician Leadership Program, beginning Sept. 18, successfully brings together physician leaders throughout the state to collaborate on issues facing the future of health care. Tuition is $13,500 for individuals registering by June 15; rates increase to $15,000 after this date.

First Cohort Graduates from Advanced LEAD Academy

Congratulations to the graduates of Advanced LEAD Academy, which launched on March 19 of this year. This three-session, six-module training experience exposes leaders to more advanced skills. Watch for Fall 2016 dates to be announced soon.

Safe Patient Handling: Help Available from HASC Business Partner Atlas Lift Tech

The biggest cause of injuries to health care workers, according to the U.S. Department of Labor, is repeated manual patient handling activities, including heavy manual lifting associated with transferring and repositioning patients.

Additionally, according to the paper A New Model for Successful Safe Patient Handling Programs, presented at the 5th International Conference on Applied Human Factors and Ergonomics in July 2014, hospitals are among the most dangerous work environments in the United States, and hospitals are making patients out of their workforce.
