A PathWays education event will introduce new health care professionals to major issues affecting the field on Thursday, Oct. 8 at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.

While this year’s contingent is set, professionals who are new to health care are encouraged to apply for slots on next year’s team. To learn more, visit http://hce-socal.org/pathways/.

PathWays: Healthcare Policy in Action is a cooperative program organized by the Hospital Association of Southern California and Health Care Executives of Southern California.

Speakers at Oct. 8’s event include Assemblyman Mike Gatto, who represents the state’s District 43, which includes parts of Los Angeles, Burbank, Glendale and Monrovia. Gatto chairs the state assembly’s privacy and consumer protection committee.

Other speakers will include Gail Margolis and Sajjad Yacoob of Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, and Shauna Day and Marty Gallegos of HASC.
