HASC’s education programs provide a cost and time-effective way for health professionals and staff to enhance their skills. Dates are set for multiple programs, and, as of press time, space is available:

Administrative Professionals Development
Series: The series’ next course, Impacting and
Navigating Organizational Culture, runs from 8 a.m. to
noon on Wednesday, Sept. 5. In it, participants will discover
their role in helping to contribute and sustain a healthy and
cohesive work environment. The series continues on Wednesday,

Board of Registered Nursing and Health Care
Professionals Intervention Program: Health care
professionals, including registered nurses, may be particularly
susceptible to substance abuse problems due to the stresses of
working in health care, as well as opportunities to obtain
controlled substances. The Wednesday, Sept. 26 seminar is
designed to provide hospitals with critical information on the
BRN Intervention Program. Learn more and register

Charge Nurse: Critical Thinking is
offered on Wednesday, Sept. 5 in Chino and on Wednesday, Sept.
12 in Los Angeles. The course explores how information analysis
can improve quality of thought, and discuss key principles and
barriers to thinking critically. Coursework will also focus on
how the application of critical thinking through the nursing
process can help staff arrive at appropriate decisions. The

The IAHSS Security & Safety Certification Preparation
Program runs from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on three
consecutive Saturdays: Sept. 8, 15 and 22. Designed for health
care safety and security officers, the three-day, eight-hour
course is based on International Association of Healthcare
Security and Safety, or IAHSS, curriculum. Students can
apply tools and techniques to pass the IAHSS Basic
Healthcare Security Officer Certification exam. Learn more and register

- The Mental Health Action Plan: Strategies for Addressing Employee Behavioral Health Concerns is designed to teach organizations how to properly promote mental health in the workplace. The different stages of the mental health action plan will provide strategies employers can use to improve emotional wellness among their workforce. Learn more and register here.
