Track III - Perinatal Safety

Track III is focused on Perinatal Safety, reducing the frequency of elective deliveries prior to 39 weeks gestation, and preventing birth trauma.  Participants attending these collaborative events work together on implementing the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ACOG) guidelines, which recommend that elective induction of labor not be conducted before the pregnancy has completed a full 39 weeks, unless medically necessary.  With this goal, as well as the goal to reduce the incidence of birth trauma, our Collaborative faculty, expert speakers, and peer hospitals help participants consider and adopt new strategies and protocols to improve perinatal safety.
