Funds Established for Wildfire-Impacted Facilities, Workers Across State

Devastating wildfires hit hospitals and workers in both Northern and Southern California this past week. Los Angeles and Ventura county facilities did not experience severe damage – but two endured evacuation due to heavy smoke.

Orange County Notches Advocacy Accomplishments

November 14, 2018

In Orange County, HASC is advocating to renew the SB 1100 intergovernmental transfer agreement for systems with at least one DSH hospital. Over the three-year period, the agreement will result in additional funds totaling approximately $5.2 million in new, unobligated revenue for CHOC Children’s, KPC Health, Prime Healthcare and Tenet.

Kennedy Accepts Annual Meeting Speaker Invite

Former congressman Patrick J. Kennedy is son of the late Sen. Edward Kennedy. 

Planning continues for HASC’s 2019 Annual Meeting this May 1-3 at La Quinta Resort and Club near Palm Springs. Mental health services advocate Patrick J. Kennedy is now a confirmed speaker for Friday, May 3.

Kennedy, a former U.S. congressman, also plans to attend the event’s strolling dinner on Thursday, May 2.

Enrollment Is Open for 2019 HASC LEAD Academies

January 10, 2019

HASC’s popular LEAD Academy and Advanced LEAD Academy are now open for 2019 session enrollment. Dates are set but space is limited, so act now to reserve seats.

Both courses deliver proven leadership strategies for health care settings. Both are fun and engaging — with time to learn from peers and instructors. The day-long courses also serve participants a delicious breakfast, lunch and snack.
