HASC Backs Care Harbor Volunteer Clinic Effort

HASC is a proud partner of the 2017 Care Harbor Los Angeles Clinic, an innovative, cooperative effort that will deliver medical and dental care to thousands of the region’s underserved and at-risk this Nov. 17-19.

Care Harbor Los Angeles Clinic is organized by Care Harbor, a 501(c)(3) charity with the same name that combines the talents and expertise of health care professionals, event organizers, and a network of volunteer professionals and support organizations.

Limited Space Remains for Oct. 20 Administrative Professionals Forum

Seats remain for this year’s Administrative Professionals Forum — which takes place Friday, Oct. 20 with the theme, Innovating and Leading.

Designed for health care executive and administrative assistants who support the C-Suite within HASC region hospitals and systems, the annual forum provides updates on topics and issues impacting administrative professionals. A peer-group panel will also delve into topics of interest.

Oct. 3 Webinar: Workplace Violence Prevention Training

A free webinar taking place noon to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 3 will review and highlight workplace violence prevention training courses offered by new HASC Endorsed Business Partner HSS Inc. Seth Karnes, HSS’s education and training manager, will lead the webinar and provide an overview of three of the security firm’s class offerings: TEAM Essentials, TEAM Advanced and TEAM Instructor.

HSS’s training products fulfill new Cal/OSHA workplace violence training requirements that went into effect earlier this year.

Communication Skills for Administrative Professionals Session Is Nov. 14

HASC is pleased to launch a new series of seminars specifically designed for administrative professionals starting with Communication Skills for Administrative Professionals. The goal is to provide relevant education programs that address the issues and critical training needs of administrative professionals. All administrative professional sessions will be designed as interactive, action-focused programs.

LEAD Academy Takes Place in Inland Empire, Glendale in November

LEAD Academy’s session No. 3 takes place Thursday, Nov. 16 in Moreno Valley and Friday, Nov. 17 in Glendale. The two-part session includes a look at Leading Others Through Change and Managing Performance.

Classes take place at USC Verdugo Hills Hospital in Glendale and Riverside University Health System – Medical Center in Moreno Valley.

HASC Briefs Moves to New Email Distribution System
Take steps to ensure continued delivery

This week, HASC is switching to a new email platform to deliver HASC Briefs to readers’ inboxes. The new system will allow HASC to update member information more quickly, easily and accurately. It will also provide a foundation for enhanced member services, including enabling members to self-select their communications in the near future.
