Priorities Survey Deadline Extended to Today

June 20, 2018

The deadline is now extended to 5 p.m. today for member responses to a survey on top public policy priorities for 2019 and beyond. Responses were originally due Friday, June 15.

The survey is a key tool to chart association priorities and allocate resources for maximum results, HASC President/CEO George Greene explained.

The survey is brief and should take just 10-15 minutes to complete.

HASC Welcomes CEO

June 20, 2018

Jill Welton is President/CEO at Dignity Health – Glendale Memorial Hospital. She has been with Dignity Health for the past six years, most recently as vice president, chief operating officer/chief nursing officer at Saint Francis Memorial Hospital in San Francisco. Welton earned her master’s in nursing from Holy Names University in Oakland, and her bachelor’s in nursing from Cal State Hayward.

The 2018-2019 election cycle is a critical time for member operations, yet HASC stands at just 38 percent of its annual CHPAC fundraising goal.

Maintaining and electing moderate representation in the legislature is more important than ever.

Pledge, Members Invited to Follow

Launched in 2015, AHA’s #123forEquity Pledge to Act to Eliminate Health Care Disparities urges hospital and health system leaders to support access across socioeconomic lines by examining race, ethnicity and language preference data, advancing cultural competency training, and increasing leadership diversity. The initiative also aims to improve and strengthen community capacity.

Up-and-coming health care professionals get a boost from the PathWays: Healthcare Policy in Action career development program sponsored by HASC and Health Care Executives of Southern California. Each year, a cohort selected from a pool of candidates attends four sessions — where health care leaders share insights and inspiration to propel participants toward their next career objective.

As an informational service to HASC members, Healthcare Benefits Alliance, or HBA, offers a webcast on its unique coverage solutions — which deliver significant savings — from noon to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 2.

HBA offers hospitals and health systems access to certain group insurance coverages designed exclusively for the health care industry.  Instead of competing with existing brokers, HBA welcomes existing brokers to the program.
