HASC Partners With Toyon — to Help Hospitals With Uncompensated Care Reporting

In September, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) revised Worksheet S-10, which is used to determine hospital Medicare Disproportionate Share (DSH) Uncompensated Care (UC) payments. The new instructions revise Medicare’s definition of charity care and uncompensated care and will now be used to redistribute more than $8 billion in hospital Medicare UC payments across the nation in federal year 2019.

Santa Cruz County Joins ReddiNet

Santa Cruz County’s wild coast sits between Monterey Bay and Half Moon Bay in California’s midsection.

Santa Cruz County has joined the ReddiNet® emergency services network. With this new enrollment, nearly 70 percent of California’s population is now served by ReddiNet, the emergency communications system.

Located 70 miles south of San Francisco, Santa Cruz County is home to 260,000 residents — as well as Dominican Hospital, Watsonville Community Hospital and Sutter Maternity & Surgery Center of Santa Cruz.

Equity Initiative Training Session Precedes
Next Week’s AHA Summit in San Diego

Working with the American Hospital Association, the Institute for Diversity and Health Equity and the Disparities Solutions Center are conducting training sessions over the next two years to provide strategies that help hospitals and health systems effectively achieve the goals of AHA’s #123forEquity pledge. The first regional session, on Wednesday, July 25, is a day-long look at execution strategies for each component of the pledge.
