SCE Webinar Provides Hospital PSPS Update

March 12, 2021

Power provider Southern California Edison has worked with HASC and HASC hospitals closely in recent years to ensure facilities are minimally impacted by public safety power shutoffs to prevent wildfire that may happen during hazardous weather conditions.

On Thursday, April 1, Edison invites facility and system representatives to attend a PSPS virtual workshop oriented for health care customers. The no-cost offering includes the following information:

One of HASC’s workforce partners, the Health Workforce Initiative (HWI) is offering a no-cost, three-part workshop series, Improving Health Outcomes for Diverse Patient Populations: Implicit Bias, Cultural Proficiency, and Language Justice/Access to better equip health care providers and educators to improve health outcomes for diverse patients in ways that are equitable, culturally proficient, and effective across languages. L.A. County Offers Hospitals Food-pickup Service

Food recovery service Copia helps hospitals with food pickups that feed hungry neighbors by delivering surpluses to local partners.


Los Angeles County this month offers a bonus for hospitals — year-long memberships to the Copia food recovery service. The first 50 organizations that respond can use the service at no cost for the next 12 months.
