Merritt Hawkins Offers Physician Salaries Overview

August 21, 2019

Staffing firm Merritt Hawkins, which places permanent staff doctors across the U.S., has released a no-cost overview of average starting physician salaries. Salaries are averaged for doctors across the country.

Starting salaries range from $648,000 for cardiac surgeons to $399,000 for pulmonary specialists and $393,000 for hematologist/oncologists.

HASC Welcomes Teigen to Mission Hospital

August 21, 2019

Seth R. Teigen, FACHE is chief executive at Mission Hospital Mission Viejo, Mission Hospital Laguna Beach and affiliated operations. All are part of Providence St. Joseph Health.

Teigen previously served as president at Franklin and St. Francis Hospitals in Milwaukee, Wisc. He was named Wisconsin Young Healthcare Executive of the Year in 2012 by the American College of Healthcare Executives.

The association recently welcomed Darryl Sanford as director of member relations and association services. Sanford brings extensive leadership experience to the role — most recently as the director of marketing and business development at Las Encinas Hospital and at Pacific Grove Hospital. In a new function for the position, he’ll work closely with HASC regional vice presidents and senior executive staff in supporting local advocacy goals — along with the association’s Endorsed Business Partner program.

Wage Index Geographic Reclassification Deadline Approaches

HASC members in Orange, San Bernardino, and Riverside counties are approaching a late summer deadline to submit applications for Group Medicare Wage Index geographic reclassifications for federal fiscal years 2021 through 2023.

$113M Lithium Battery Settlement Deadline Is Three Days Away

HASC Endorsed Business Partner MCAG today reminds members that a $113 million lithium ion batteries settlement deadline occurs this Friday, July 19. Qualified organizations that enroll with MCAG over the next few days will be eligible for cash payouts from the settlement.

All organizations that purchased laptop computers, tablets and mobile phones between Jan. 1, 2000 and May 31, 2011 are eligible upon enrollment.
